Marilyn L Davis
As a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist, with 26 years in long-term recovery, I am a passionate advocate and believe that encouraging others in their struggles with addiction is a way to use my talents and experiences.
In addition, I opened and ran an award winning women's recovery home in Georgia for more than 20 years, authoring the Therapeutic Integrated Educational Recovery System Curriculum. In 2008, Brenau University, Georgia, created the Marilyn Davis Community Service Learning Award for my work with more than 750 nursing students and developing the Round Robin of Recovery.
In 2010, I was awarded the Liberty Bell Award from the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, Georgia, for advocacy work within the criminal justice system and my community.
So that's what I've done to date; a little of who I am, and what I write about, but my interest in books goes back to age three when I was introduced to the black squiggly lines that made the pictures come to life. Building upon this interest, I also write about the art and craft of writing.
