The gentle and soothing nature of crystal healing makes it ideal for healing difficult, challenging and hurtful experiences that have happened in the past. This can include events such as divorce, a difficult or abusive childhood, abusive relationships, accidents or any situations you feel negatively towards. Negative experiences such as these can lead to a range of problems such as poor self-esteem, low confidence, depression, anxiety and difficulty trusting others. Although we may move on from the events themselves and be able to lead a normal life, there may still be lasting effects that stay with us for years to come.
Crystal healing can be used to help heal lingering difficulties from negative events in our past. 1. Pink Tourmaline
This pink stone is associated with the heart chakra and so it is ideal for issues relating to any type of love. It is a protective stone that promotes self-confidence and self-love as well as helping us to understand the root of our emotions. Pink tourmaline is an ideal crystal for those that find it easy to love but tend to take even the smallest criticisms to heart. This tendency can lead to the feeling that they are imperfect or unworthy of love in return. This crystal can help in teaching you that you are worthy of love from others and to love yourself as you are.
Peridot can be found in various shades of green and is a powerful cleansing crystal. It can help in cleansing and opening the heart chakra and in releasing old baggage, burdens, guilt and obsessions over past events. This is a good crystal to choose if you have lingering guilt over events in your childhood. It may be that whatever happened was not actually your fault even if you were made to feel it was at the time or you may have guilt over small childhood misdemeanours such as stealing a chocolate bar or being unkind to other children at school. Peridot can help release these and teach you that holding onto old emotions hold no benefits.
This is a useful stone to use in meditation to help you understand your circumstances and what led you there. It drives you towards finding the truth and encourages fostering trust and companionship. Sodalite eliminates mental confusion and helps to keep thoughts rational, objective and focused on the truth. It aids in releasing rigid mindsets and mental conditioning that no longer serve us and helps in releasing fears, phobias, and guilt from past events. Sodalite enhances self-esteem and self-acceptance as well as helping develop self-trust.
4. Light Green Serpentine
Also known as infinite stone. This is a gentle stone that integrates the past present and future and encourages compassion and forgiveness towards yourself over past experiences. This crystal is useful for healing emotional baggage from previous relationships. When placed on the throat chakra it aids in speaking of past issues that still remain. If you need to confront someone regarding your past, carrying a light green serpentine stone will help to bring a gentle and tender energy to the situation.
Anhydrite is a form of calcium sulfate and is associated with the throat, third eye and crown chakras. It is a useful crystal in learning to accept all that life has brought us and in releasing thoughts of the past and how things may have been different. This crystal can help you to recognise thought patterns, behaviours and actions that could be changed if ever faced with the same situation again and lead to a more positive and beneficial outcome. Anhydrite can aid in releasing feelings of revenge, anger, and resentment towards past experiences or people and stop these influencing life in the present.
This yellow crystal can be used to raise self-esteem and self-confidence. It can also help dissolve destructive thought patterns and behaviours including the tendency to shy away from experiences for fear they will end badly. Citrine encourages the development of a positive attitude and reminds us to look forward rather than living in the past. It can be used in overcoming depression, fears and phobias and helps in understanding information and situations.
7. Fire Opal
Fire opal is a useful stone for letting go of the past and enjoying life in the present to the full. It can help in releasing grief, no matter how deeply rooted. This crystal empowers recognising and leaving situations of injustice and mistreatment and supports through any resulting emotional turmoil. Fire opal is known as a stone of hope by many but care should be taken when using it in healing, as it can cause bottled up emotions to be released all at once. This is a very useful crystal for situations where you need to accept and let go of difficult memories that are holding you back.
