Lammas is also known as Lughnasadh and is the first of the three pagan harvest festivals. It is considered a time of giving thanks as the sun's strength begins to wane and the spring crops become ready for harvest. There is a feeling of abundance at Lammas, but it is important to remember the long winter that is to come and that many of the crops must be prepared and stored in preparation. The bright summer days will now begin to shorten, and thoughts turn to reap the harvests of seeds sown earlier in the year. This may refer to the traditional harvest of corn, fruit, and vegetables but also to our own personal harvests of achievements and goals or any of our efforts that have led to better things in life. We can also look at the things that didn’t work out so well or failed and think about why this happened. As this is the first harvest, fertility symbols are often still present as well as rituals, symbols, and offerings to promote the continued success of the crops and life in general.

Crystals can be incorporated into Lammas celebrations in many ways. For example, they can be placed on your altar, used in rituals and spells or used in meditation.
