I have studied crystal healing for many years and have studied and been attuned to reiki levels one, two and masters.

Although for some people, stressful situations and tension can help them perform under pressure, many people can become overwhelmed by stress to a point where it is negatively affecting their life. Stress causes physical changes that are designed to help the body cope with difficult or dangerous situations. These changes include an increase in heart rate and breathing, sweating and muscle tension. Once the danger has passed, the body returns to its normal state.

However, if someone experiences constant stress—even if it seems minor—the body can stay in this tense state. This can negatively affect a person’s emotional, mental and physical health and cause issues such as feeling anxious, overwhelmed or irritable, having difficulty concentrating and making decisions, or other symptoms such as headaches, changes in appetite and trouble sleeping. Stress can also lead to changes in behaviour and relating to others. A stressed person may seem constantly distracted, be angry and snap at others easily or become upset over even the smallest thing. If stress continues to build upon a person over a long period, there can be a risk of them developing stress-related illnesses such as high blood pressure, migraines and anxiety or depression.

It can be hard to avoid stress in life, and it can be the case that a person does not realise how much of an impact stress is having on their life. They may not notice their behaviour changing and may simply doing whatever is needed to get through their days. Although stress may not be avoidable, there are many ways to help reduce stress levels and the negative impact that it has on a person.

These include mindfulness, breathing techniques for relaxation, eating well, exercising and taking a break when possible, even if it is only for a short time. Crystal healing can also help in reducing stress levels and in supporting people through stressful times. For example, crystals can be used to relieve tension, reduce irritability and soothe emotions. One example is using amethyst to ease tension headaches.
