Intro to Chakras

Chakra-clearing is far from a new concept. In fact, it's ancient. It was used in Ancient Egypt, Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Buddhism.

And people across cultures have touted the benefits of having balanced chakras.

Balanced chakras mean it's easier to stay grounded, feel more secure and confident, as well more in touch with your own body and emotions, instead of being overwhelmed by them.

Keep reading to learn more about the benefits of healing and balancing your chakras.

What Is a Chakra?

Chakras are energy centers in your body. If you've ever studied quantum physics, you've learned that everything is energy, vibrating at its own frequency.

From things as tiny as atoms to items as large as the most expansive planet in the galaxy.

Chakras have been called by several different names, including chi, prana, mana, ki, qi, bioplasm, life force energy, Odic force, and more.

There are seven major energy centers that make up the chakras, and they include:

  • Crown Chakra - Spirituality
  • Third Eye Chakra - Intuition
  • Throat Chakra - Communication
  • Heart Chakra - Love, compassion
  • Solar Plexus Chakra - Self-esteem, power
  • Sacral Plexus Chakra - Sexuality, creativity
  • Root Chakra - Survival, Being, Family

Balancing these energy centers can contribute to better overall health, in addition to the other benefits, which we'll discuss in more detail below.

Benefits of a Clear and Balanced Chakra

As you learned earlier, healing and balancing your chakras can help you stay grounded, feel more secure and confident, and feel more in touch with your own body and emotions, instead of being overwhelmed by them.

Having clear and balanced chakras also means a boosted immune system, steady blood flow to the vital organs, and the ability to manage stress better.

Awakening your kundalini energy (which is what balancing the chakras can help achieve) can lead to heightened psychic and intuitive abilities, as well as profound consciousness.

But more than that, clearing and balancing your chakras can:

  • help release blocked emotional energy, old patterns, and negative emotions
  • send corrective affirmations for improperly functioning major chakras
  • help achieve an 'at-ease' state from a 'dis-ease' state in the physical body

So consider one of the activities mentioned below to start working on clearing out those blockages.

Let's look at some possible causes your chakras may be blocked.

Possible Causes of Blocked Chakras

Some possible causes of blocked chakras include:

  • Guilt
  • Trauma
  • Repressed anger
  • Repressed grief
  • A lack of trust in your own intuition
  • Unresolved anger toward God/the Universe/the Creator

You should work on clearing block chakras as soon as possible because they can severely affect your life. They can cause you to make decisions you wouldn't make with healthy, balanced chakras.

Start using the methods below to help clear and balance your chakras.

And remember, you should do this on a continuous basis. It's not a one and done kind of thing. You might encounter things in life that cause your chakras to become unbalanced or blocked again and you'll have to re-do the work to clear and balance them again.

A chakra-clearing meditation can work wonders for you if you're willing to commit to doing it every day. Clearing your chakras before you start the day can help to get through it a lot easier.

You could also find a chakra healing meditation video on YouTube to listen to while you meditate each day.

Reiki has been used for centuries to help heal chakras.

It's essentially an energy healing technique that can help promote relaxation and reduce anxiety and stress.

Reiki healing practitioners use their hands to transfer energy into your body, helping improve the flow and balance of your energy to promote the ultimate healing of your chakras.

Practicing reiki healing can have the following benefits:

  • Relieve pain and tension
  • Stimulate your body’s immune system
  • Help heal tissue and bones after surgery or injury
  • Promote natural self-healing
  • Help you meditate

Using reiki healing can promote better wellness, peace, relaxation, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

I've used ylang ylang essential oil for a number of different things, including chakra healing.

6. Say "I" Affirmations

Affirmations are powerful "I" statements that can help you change your mindset.

Over time, they can help you eliminate negative beliefs you might be harboring about yourself or your life that could be harmful to your health and detrimental to your success in life.

For each chakra, you need to start your "I" affirmation with the following:

  • Root Chakra - "I Am..."
  • Sacral Chakra - "I Feel..."
  • Solar Plexus Chakra - "I Do..."
  • Heart Chakra - "I Love..."
  • Throat Chakra - "I Speak..."
  • Third Eye Chakra - "I See..."
  • Crown Eye Chakra - "I Understand..."

You could make up your own based on your own personal development goals or you could research some other people have used.

If you want to take things a step further, I recommend the book Chakra Healing: A Beginner's Guide to Self-Healing Techniques that Balance the Chakras by Margarita Alcantra.

I've been using it on my chakra-healing journey and it's been a godsend.
