Recently research has proved that cold showers are healthy. It may be hard for you to imagine getting in a cold shower, but it is healthy. Cold showers boost your metabolism. I have found an abundance of reasons to take cold showers.
If I can do it, you can do it too!
There was a recent clinical trial in the Netherlands that found employees who took cold showers called off work 29% less often. Cold showers actually heighten your immune system, which makes you more resistant to illness.
You only have to stay in that cold shower for 2 to 3 minutes, and you could start with warm water, then make it cold.
My doctor told me to take cold showers when I was complaining about dry skin. The skin won’t lose its natural oils when you take cold showers, plus your hair will be shiny. Hair follicles will be flat and it increases the grip on the scalp.
If you are worried about losing your hair, then cold showers are for you!
Strengthen Your Willpower
Incorporating cold showers into your daily routine will strengthen your willpower. You may feel like you can’t breathe the first time you take a cold shower, but you will be breathing in more oxygen and your heart rate increases.
You will have more energy all day!
A cold shower will train your nervous system to be more resilient to stress because it reduces your uric acid and increases the level of Glutathione in your blood, which has numerous benefits to your health.
Cold showers are thought to help with weight loss. Most people do not know there is both white and brown fat in our bodies. The white fat is the problem. Brown fat is activated in the cold shower to warm you, and it increases your energy.
Ultimately, this process results in weight loss.

For men, cold showers increase their testosterone levels, and this also has a positive effect on the DNA and RNA. Additionally, it boosts your sperm count and increases fertility.
A USCF study found that men who stopped taking regular hot baths had an increase in their sperm count up by 491%.

A cold shower stimulates what is known as the blue spot (locus coeruleus). It is a very small cluster of cells at the base of the brain, which is the neurotransmitter and it increases endorphins and cortisol is decreased. Taking a cold shower 2 to 3 times a week can decrease the symptoms of depression.
Endorphins are the feel-good hormones!
Hydrotherapy has been used since the 1930s for addiction treatment as it increases the beta-endorphins, which is the hormone that binds to the opioid receptors in the brain.
There are numerous benefits of cold showers. You might want to ease into taking cold showers, and deep breathing may help you adjust to the discomfort.
