My Top 15 Favorite ASMR Artists

I am the author of three middle-grade children's books, and I blog on the side. My favorite topics are movies, writing, and pop culture.

ASMR and Its Whisperers

Do you like watching people flip through magazines and newspapers?

Does the sound of bubble wrap relax you?

Have you ever stopped to watch Bob Ross’s The Joy of Painting on PBS just because you like his slow, gentle voice and the sound of his paint brushes dotting the blank canvas?

If so, then you might have ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response).

ASMR is a tingling and relaxing sensation that some people feel in their head, neck, and extremities when triggered by whispers, slow movements, and soft, calming sounds. Over the last few years, an entire community of "whisperers" have sprung up on YouTube.

These “ASMR artists” create videos that can last from a few minutes to a few hours. Viewers watch the ASMR artists tap on objects, flip through books, or whisper about various topics to promote relaxation and/or sleep. Science has not been able to explain ASMR, and not everyone experiences the tingling sensation when they listen to an ASMR video, but it is immensely helpful for those who do.

Below is a list of my favorite ASMR artists in alphabetical order. Each artist brings something different to the ASMR community. Some incorporate their lives into their videos while others prefer to remain anonymous, having never revealed their faces. Some create professional, polished videos with props and special effects while others simply use their camera phone and whatever objects are nearby. They live all over the world and are from different generations and backgrounds.

If you like what you see, check out some of their channels to discover your ASMR triggers. It may be the key to relieving your stress and sleep deprivation at the end of a long day.

This Canadian YouTuber is a born ASMR artist. She has a high but calming voice and buys a lot of interesting souvenirs on her trips to tap on, crinkle, and talk about. Her videos are pastel bright but slow and serene.

If you like candy, Alice In Wonderland, comic books, and Disney characters, hers is the channel for you. I especially like the painting and drawing tips that she incorporates into her art videos, her Morticia Addams role plays, and the shopping bag that she crinkles at the end of her "New York Goodies" video.

  • clear whisper voice
  • interesting props
  • colorful backgrounds
  • artistic
  • "New York Goodies"
  • "Inktober Painting"
  • "A Quiet Canoe Ride in the Canadian Wilderness"

Sometimes the sounds of a good prop are all you need to fall asleep. I especially love ear cleaning videos with ear-shaped microphones. ASMRMagic puts her props front and center with a variety of talking and no-talking videos.

I love the colorful objects that she chooses to display along with her elaborate microphones that fully immerse you into the sounds. Her videos are also on the long side so you can put one on and not have to worry about finding another one to put on if you don't fall asleep right away.

ASMR Massage PsycheTruth

This channel is hosted by a team of women who take turns brushing each other's hair, giving massages, and role-playing. They have soft speaking, whispering, and no talking videos. Their sounds are sharp and crisp, and their movements are slow and gentle.

PsycheTruth offers a variety of tips and expertise on beauty and health topics, and their videos are always a decent length, not too long or short. I like how they dress up for every video and really get into their role plays and tutorials.

  • slow, gentle movements
  • massage tips
  • highly professional technology, multi-camera angles, and high-quality microphones
  • regularly posted videos
  • "Wow! ASMR Hair Brushing Bliss!"
  • "Binaural ASMR Massage Back Tickling & Ear to Ear Whisper Mermaid Role Play"
  • "1 Hour Full Body ASMR Massage"

This ASMR artist's videos include role plays, creating sounds with thrift shop items, and theme videos. Some of her videos have better special effects than certain Hollywood movies.

Whether you want to see an elaborate show or just a bare-bones whisper video, she's got a variety to choose from. I appreciate the research that goes into some of her videos and the trivia that she provides on specific topics.

  • long videos
  • pop culture history
  • role plays
  • humor
  • "Time Travel Tuesday: Disney - ASMR Ear 2 Ear - Soft Spoken"
  • "Tooth Fairy Tingles - ASMR - Role Play"
  • "Time Travel Tuesday: Bob Ross"

This whisperer has dozens of role-play videos and a really fun Top 10 series. Known for her unique voice and candid nature, she's another ASMR community favorite. Her medical role plays are some of the best in the genre, complete with a labcoat, instruments, and even introductory phone calls where the appointment is made before the patient comes into the office.

  • "Doctor RP (ASMR) | sleep | relaxation | RE-Uploaded"
  • "Joan Jett Book - Page Flipping (ASMR)"
  • "Scalp Check (RP)"

GentleWhispering is a favorite in the ASMR community and may even be the number one star of ASMR. Her real name is Maria, and she has a great Russian accent and very fluid hand motions.

Her videos showcase her interests including origami, crafting, and Russian culture. She puts out tons of content, is always original, and has a variety of interests, with new ones constantly being introduced, such as crystal therapy and meditative art. I also recommend her non-ASMR channel, Sassy Masha Vlogs, where she documents her daily life as a wife and mother.

  • variety of content
  • educational
  • autobiographical
  • "(")-_-(")Relaxing Dog/Pet Massage(")-_-(")"
  • "Feminine Grace & Charm for sleep"

Gibi is a quirky artist with elaborate dress-up videos and role plays. In the end, though, she achieves what she sets out to do: put her audience to sleep. Her videos involve cooking, make-up, anime, medical tools, found objects, and fantasy. She has a lot of personality, and you can tell that she has fun making her videos.

  • whispering

Hungry Cakes

Some people can't stand the sound of eating, especially loud eating. If, like me, you disagree, Hungry Cakes is the channel for you. This whisperer participates in the sub-genre of mukbang videos. Mukbang involves watching a YouTuber eat a big meal for the duration of their video.

This is not a good channel to watch if you're hungry, but it is a great channel to watch if you love food, especially food that is bad for you. I'm addicted to Hungry Cakes' Chick-fil-A video where she displays every kind of sauce that the chain provides and tries them all as she devours her chicken sandwich and waffle fries.

  • "mukbang"
  • "eating sounds"
  • "good food"
  • "ASMR: Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich *Eating Sounds*"
  • "ASMR: Lemon Cake *Eating Sounds* Mukbang"
  • "ASMR: Nigiri Sushi"

Latte ASMR

Latte's channel has evolved into one of the most precise and artistic channels in the ASMR community. Her latest videos provide long introductions featuring sound-intensive preparations that lead into her role plays. She takes on each character she plays with immersive dedication.

Her videos are very quiet so headphones are a necessity. She also has one of the highest, gentle voices in the ASMR universe, giving her a natural whisper voice.

Latte moves slowly and rhythmically, creating a sleep-inducing environment. Her backgrounds are colorful and interesting, and she has some imaginative ideas for videos. I like to listen to her channel at the end of a long day or as background noise as I work on the computer.

  • voice
  • intricate introductions
  • slow hand movements
  • "Take a Cool Nap in a Summer Day"
  • "School Nurse Lice Check"
  • "Calm and Peaceful Time with a Nurse"

Massaging is his specialty, but MassageASMR is just as effective as an ASMR artist when he is silently crinkling packages for hours on end. He stands out in a female-dominated art form and has a gentle way of speaking without being creepy, offering tips and the choice of verbal vs. silent versions of some of his videos. His role plays aren't bad either. Dr. Dmitri always puts me to sleep.

  • gentle voice
  • crinkle master
  • deep topics
  • massage videos
  • "Back Massage to Reduce Lower Back Pain & Relaxation - ASMR"
  • "ASMR Crincle Heaven 11 - Ear to Ear Crinkles (No Talking)"

Moonlight Cottage ASMR

Moonlight Cottage ASMR, aka Diane, has been posting videos on her channel since 2019. Her videos transport you to another time, whether it's a tiny cottage or a turn-of-the-century doctor's office.

Her videos take place in authentic-looking settings that enthrall and teach as they put you to sleep. With her gentle French accent and precise hand motions, she's one of the most impressive ASMR artists on YouTube.

  • realistic props and settings
  • distinctive voice
  • unique and elaborate content
  • "Making a Christmas Wreath | Cinematic ASMR (no talking, quiet sounds)"
  • "The Steampunk Optometrist | Lens Test & Goggles Fitting | ASMR Roleplay (eye exam, soft spoken)"
  • "An Old-Fashioned French Lesson | ASMR Teacher Roleplay (chalkboard, abacus, soft spoken)"

I've never seen someone with as many interests as RelaxingASMR, and he uses these interests to create sleep-inducing videos. Whether it's nostalgically flipping through old magazines, testing the water in his fish tank, or setting up his annual Christmas village, he does it with slow, calm movements and only the most necessary whispering.

I especially like to watch him work on drawings and crossword puzzles. I also like his "This-or-That" game where he circles one item he would buy on each page of a catalog with a thick, black Sharpie.

  • "educational videos/interesting topics"
  • "strong and steady hand movements"
  • "catalog flipping"
  • "Page Turning 1992 Store Catalog – ASMR"
  • "Christmas Village ASMR"
  • "Will I Choose This or That? - ASMR Sleep Aid"

Semide Coco is a naturopathic student who uses her expertise to create realistic ASMR videos where she examines real people, usually her dad and sister. She's knowledgeable about what she's doing, and she has a calm, gentle voice that puts both the subject and viewer at ease.

I love her authentic instrumentations. Her intros are also especially calming, made up of setup montages with quiet music playing in the background.

  • Real subjects to work on and instruments used.
  • Multiple angles and good equipment.
  • Professional soft speaking voice.

VisualSounds1 is a very active member of the ASMR community. She has an enthusiastic interest in pop culture and tons of role-play videos to peruse. She also has a very relaxed, conversational tone in her videos. Despite the fact that she is merely talking into a camera lens, she makes me feel like she's an old friend telling me a story in person.

  • pop culture interests
  • acting ability

  • "Tour of my room"
  • "X-Men Role Play - Xavier Institute Initiation (ASMR)"

WhispersRed ASMR

Emma's red hair is her trademark look, and it catches your eye as you are browsing through the latest ASMR video thumbnails. She has a motherly way about her and is intent on finding new ways for improving her videos and expanding her audience, whether it be taping a microphone to her brush or creating a special playlist for children.

She has a pleasant nature and a nice variety of videos to choose from. Few whisperers can move as slow as she does to get just the right sounds from her ASMR tools.

  • crinkle noises
  • extra-quiet whispering
  • slow hand movements
  • "How to Make English Toast Binaural ASMR Tea Ritual Contd"
  • "Whispaws Parlou ASMR Dog Spa & Massage/Fur Brushing & Ear Examination"

Laura Smith (author) from Pittsburgh, PA on January 19, 2020:

Aside from Hungry Cakes, I'm not a big fan of the mukbang ASMR videos. Fred's Voice used to be one of my favorites, but I haven't connected with his videos in the past few years. I agree about the porn ASMR videos, and it's frustrating to have to weed through them to get to the genuine sleep videos. Per the title of this article these are "MY" top 15 ASMR artists. So it was judged on personal preference alone. I encourage anyone who doesn't like these choices to put the time and energy into creating their own list of favorites and putting their opinions out there for readers to consider and judge.

Lin on January 18, 2020:

You overlooked one of the best mukbangers: SAS ASMR out of Canada. Also FredsVoice, TingTing and all unintentional ASMR. I find a lot of these videos on this page tedious and repetitive. One of my triggers is voice and most ASMRtists don't have what it takes or have no talking videos and fake ears. I also dislike porn asmr videos that appeal to people who don't experience asmr.

maya on April 27, 2019:

angelica asmr is one of my personal favorites; she is intelligent, hilarious, and covers a variety of topics in her roleplays (i.e. greek mythology, rps as various authors, and funny twists on classic asmr themes)

Oliver on April 27, 2019:

I compiled list of 253 (currently) ASMR artists which I update almost daily.

Maybe you can check it out?

iptv hosting online on February 20, 2019:

I found a girl with the most amazing hair on omg what a hair :-) Her name is Dolce Vita...check her out!

Ned on February 10, 2019:

I love ASMR Glow. She's not only talented, but she shows us her true personality in her videos.

Here are a few more that I like:

Creative Calm ASMR (Australian or British)

TingTing ASMR (Chinese, speaks English well)

PuddingWhispers (his glove videos are eargasmic)

Tori ASMR (I wish she would post more often)

GenoGold on November 08, 2018:

How come everyone forgets Dr.T? His deep gravally voice is like a brain massage. Its intense man.

On a side note, i was listening to lattes Facial Spa Video when i clicked on this site lol

Claire Forrest on March 18, 2018:

I really like ASMR Nymph on spotify or Apple Music. Give her a go.

Alexander James Guckenberger from Maryland, United States of America on March 06, 2018:

I love tingles. ^_^

MarioBros79 on May 08, 2017:

Asmr With Sasha is wonderful

Dave on April 08, 2017:

I can also recommend WhispersRed ASMR. She's one of my more recent favorites. Check out her virtual haircut videos or the relaxing by the fire video for a good example of her work.

Cari M. on March 04, 2017:

Best ASMR artist who doesn't fail to give me goosebumps and or relax me and melt away anxiety. I know that there are different ASMR types for everyone. One size does not fit all. Check out JUICYTINGLES dollar tree haul. The time period on her channel JUICYTINGLES from October 2015 to June 2016 with " haul" or gum popping while showing nail polish collection or gum popping while doing my daughter's hair or sorting make up while chewing popping gum are the best ever. She whispers on some but speaks naturally on most she also does MUKBANG which I don't watch. Also she has another channel EyesMarriedNow. On You Tube one of her best is EyesMarriedNow Halloween haul. The time frame that I mentioned is her strongest work. She's so natural so you don't really think it's intentional ASMR.

Laura Smith (author) from Pittsburgh, PA on August 19, 2014:

I just got into watching his videos, and one of the whisperers above deleted their account so I might replace hers with his. Thanks for the comment!

Evo on August 19, 2014:

Good list! The only channel that I'd say REALLY need to be added is Massage ASMR - this guy is amazing:

Laura Smith (author) from Pittsburgh, PA on July 17, 2014:

I shall. Thanks!

Roy on July 17, 2014:

Try to check her channel, I find her quite talented too!

Laura Smith (author) from Pittsburgh, PA on July 16, 2014:

Oh, I've never seen that one, but I do like the men's shave role plays.

Roy on July 15, 2014:

I really like this one!!!
